BigCommerce has been running its own ecommerce platform for quite some time now, so it provided its own content management system and hosting. However, BigCommerce is now attempting to get into the WordPress space, with an early version of its developer beta. As of right now, you have to apply to gain access, but that could change in the near future. The main goal for BigCommerce is to attract companies that have built their websites on WordPress. It’s quite possible that a popular blogger finally wants to start selling products. The only problem is that they might find the BigCommerce system more advantageous than some WordPress plugins. Before this BigCommerce plugin, combining WordPress with BigCommerce wasn’t possible. You had to choose one or the other.

As you can see, the Ecwid checkout provides plenty of white space while the customer moves through the process. I'm a fan of keeping the checkout to as few pages as possible, but sometimes that's not realistic. Therefore, Ecwid has a progress bar at the bottom of the checkout, telling customers how close they are to completion. For example, you can see steps for the shopping bag, shipping details, payment details and placing an order.
If you’re already comfortable using WordPress, you will find that WooCommerce looks familiar. Make sure you access the tutorial videos that can be accessed through the Help menu.
Any further updates on this issue? IPN responses became intermittent a few days ago. Yesterday I was receiving maybe 50% and they were all delayed by 4-8 hours (thought PayPal was showing approvals almost immediately). I was 2 revisions behind on the plugin so I updated and now IPN notifications are no longer being received at all. PayPal confirms all notifications are queued. I really would like to get the ipn url for local testing. Could we get that? Or a generic path to use for local testing? Rhonda

As with any membership system, it is possible for one member to signup, and then share their username with someone else; or even post it online for the whole world to see. This is known as link sharing (aka: username sharing). It is not likely that you'll be attacked in this way, but it's still a good idea to protect your system; just in case somebody tries this. s2Member's Unique IP Restrictions work for Membership Level Access (account logins), Specific Post/Page Access, Registration Links, and other secure entry points. In all cases, the rules are simple. A single username, access link, and/or entry point; is only valid for a certain number of unique IP addresses. Once that limit is reached, s2Member assumes there has been a security breach. At that time, s2Member will place a temporary ban (preventing access) to a specific post/page, or to an account associated with a particular username. This temporary ban, will only affect the offending link and/or username associated with the security breach. You can fine-tune this behavior through configurable options.
