PayPal Pro and PayPal Express is a two-in-one add-on for the Easy Digital Downloads plugin (a premium tool for selling digital products with WordPress). The PayPal Pro API allows your visitors to enter their credit card details when they’re checking out without leaving your website. This means better user experience for your visitors and consequently brings you more conversions. Also, PayPal Express helps users checkout in a secure way.
The “item_description” parameter can be added to the shortcode to pass a description of your item to PayPal. For example: [checkout_for_paypal item_description="My item description" amount="3.99"] Return URL .
Whether you’re selling physical products, digital goods, or one-of-a-kind services, PayPal makes it easy for you to accept payment from your customers. PayPal handles the entire transaction so you don’t have to worry about credit card processing, security issues, or PCI compliance. All you need to do is add PayPal to your WordPress website.

In addition, you can opt for the pro version, which is a massive upgrade from the basic version of the plugin. While the basic package is more than enough for smaller businesses and starter projects, the pro version brings a lot to the table – the ability to send emails upon payment, to connect multiple items from Contact Form 7, and the ability to charge for shipping.

I would like to put a PayPal “donate” button on our homepage, and I’ve installed/configured the plug-in. But like Nona (above), I can’t figure out where to put the “donate” shortcode to generate a button, and then tell it how to go to a specific module on the homepage. Is any other documentation available? The instructions on this page assume a level of knowledge that I don’t (yet) have. Thanks in advance!
If you have sent a PayPal payment that is pending, it’s possible the recipient hasn’t accepted it yet. This may happen if the recipient’s account is configured to review each payment that they receive. It can also happen if the payment is made in a currency that is different from the recipient’s primary currency. In that case the recipient will need to manually review the payment by either converting it to the primary currency or create a new balance in the payment currency. If recipient approves the payment once they will be able to receive payments in that currency in the future automatically. Disclosure: This page may contain affiliate links.
